Contemporary trends in teaching English language and Mathematics

English language and Mathematics teachers from secondary schools from across the country gathered together in United World College in Mostar on 23rd and 24th October to attend parallel seminars on contemporary trends in teaching. The presentation of how to use new technologies in classes was the main focus of interactive and dynamic lectures held by the IB teachers from Slovenian IB schools in Ljubljana and Maribor Barbara Gostiša Pretnar, Miro Mrčela and Barbara Pećanac who were accompanied by UWCiM teachers Jordanka Marčeta and Ivana Knježević.

Workshop for English teachers was attended by 27 English teachers from Tešanj, Mostar, Kakanj, Goražde, Jajce, Novi Grad, Novi Travnik, Bijeljina, Orašje, Rudo, Busovača, Cazin, Gradačac, Ribnik, Lukavac, Banja Luka, Donji Vakuf, Gornji Vakuf, Sarajevo, Maglaj and Vlasenica while at the workshop for Math teachers 25 participants came from 16 different towns from the whole country: Velika Kladuša, Mostar, Novi Travnik, Bosanska Krupa, Kalesija, Sarajevo, Gornji Vakuf, Cazin, Orašje, Banja Luka, Maglaj, Bijeljina, Visoko, Zenica, Lukavac and Bosanska Krupa.

Organized through the Centre for professional development of teachers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, these workshops are a successful continuation of the efforts of the UWC-IB Initiative to promote the values of teaching methods of International Baccaulerate (IB) programme and positively impact the secondary education system in BiH.
